The horror hoaxes are skillfully designed to tap into the wildest fears of the prank’s prey. Viewers laugh along to the hilarious reactions of the show’s “stars” as they are caught off guard and on camera.

A true adventure seeker, Joe tracks leads that send him to a variety of unlikely places— like combing through dusty basements and attics or meeting with world-renowned celebrities to peruse through their personal keepsakes.

Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files revolutionizes paranormal programming by investigating the evidence witnesses post on the Internet every day. Have you ever seen a photo or video online and wondered, “Is this real?” This is the show that will answer that question.

Heading up the Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files team is Ben Hansen, a former FBI agent with a life-long fascination with the paranormal. Now, having left the agency, he leads a young team of intrepid investigators who will convene to dissect the latest unusual images and decide whether they merit further investigation. Grainy videos will be brought to life as the team conducts thorough and elaborate experiments in an attempt to recreate the phenomena, and Ben will make the final choice which cases will require a trip into the field.

Once an investigation is underway, the team will talk to witnesses, carry out experiments using the latest in high tech detection devices, collect physical samples, and determine whether a case should be debunked, or whether it’s a baffling paranormal mystery that might even put the team in danger. It’s all in a day’s work for the dogged investigators of Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files.

Face Off is a competition/elimination series exploring the world of special-effects make-up artists and the unlimited imagination that allows them to create amazing works of living art. The contestants are tasked with elaborate feature challenges including executing full body paint make up on models and creating their own horror villain. Not only will the show incorporate effects make-up, it will include a wide range of skill sets including prosthetics, 3-D design, sculpting, eye enhancers, casting and molding. Each episode involves incredible reveals of the competitors’ finished work, and the drama of one contestant being sent home by the panel of expert and celebrity judges. It all culminates in one winner and one grand prize that will launch a career.

My full time position at NBC is as a Web Developer for Syfy (Formerly, The Scifi Channel). In that role I created the HTML and CSS framework for the new Syfy.com. I coded major sections of the new site such as the Home Page, Schedule, and Movies sections as well as major show sites. I also authored the main menu code used on every page of Syfy.com.

I regularly create and maintain hundreds of Pages in the Syfy Network. I also handle the Syfy Weekly newsletter which I create every week and send to over 400,000 subscribers.

I help maintain this site as a member of the development team.  My contributions include home page special features, interactive quizzes, streaming video, episode synopsis, galleries, and other interactive features. I also regularly manage the advertising banners on this site.

Syfy, in partnership with Samsung and the World Cyber Games, presents an all-new reality competition series to find the “Best All-Around Gamer.” A diverse group of contestants embark on an intense and emotional journey in hopes of winning prizes that include $100,000 and the ultimate Samsung electronics package, complete with the company’s most advanced technology products. The winner will also be the face of WCG and represent the WCG at events around the globe including the 2009 Grand Final in China.

Co-hosted by Hannah Simone and Joel Gourdin, the series showcases twelve contestants who live together in a single loft in downtown Los Angeles. They will compete against each other in challenges that include traditional video game play as well as real-life video game simulations, which place the contestants in situations inspired by best-selling and world famous games. Throughout the competition, the ultimate gamer will need to excel both individually and with his or her teammates, have top-notch gamer skills and be able to handle the pressure of head-to-head elimination rounds played in an arena filled with hundreds of spectators. The ultimate gamer will also have to showcase their ability to navigate and manipulate a houseful of other die-hard gamers, all vying to be crowned number one.

WCG Ultimate Gamer was created and executive produced by Michael Agbabian and Dwight D. Smith, both of Phenomenon, Gameshow Marathon and Last Comic Standing fame.

World Wrestling Entertainment and Syfy are teaming up to bring you the next generation of reality television with the debut of WWE NXT. In this hybrid live event/reality show, eight popular WWE superstars, including Matt Hardy, Chris Jericho and William Regal, will be paired with eight “Rookies” looking to learn the ropes and make their pro wrestling dreams come true.

They come from various walks of life – from former college basketball stars and firefighters to Harvard Law graduates and indie wrestling champions. They come from locations as exotic as South Africa, the United Kingdom and New Jersey. And they all have one goal: To be the king of the squared circle. Who will emerge victorious and claim his place in the WWE pantheon? You’ll have to watch NXT, premiering Tuesday, February 23 at 10/9c, to find out.
